The Hidden History of Yoga

We are keenly awaiting the warmer months for our first ever visit to Scotland to contribute on Yoga Scotland's Annual Retreat. It's to be held in the Scottish Borders on 10th - 12th June, 2016 and we're pleased to be offering several modules over the course of the weekend.

Day 1: 4pm arrival Friday, 10th June
Day 2: All day Saturday, 11th June
Day 3: 4pm Farewell Sunday, 12th June

Our contribution on the retreat will include:
Day 2: Saturday
10am - 1pm: The Hidden History of Yoga - Methods and Meaning in the Medieval Yoga Traditions
Lecture and Open Discussion (3 hrs) 
2:30pm - 4pm: Āsana practice inspired by the Medieval Yoga of the Hathābhyāsapaddhati (17th century)Practice (1.5 hrs) 
4:30pm - 6pm: The Yogic Breath - Special instructions given in Medieval Yoga for proper technique in prāṇāyāmaLecture and Practice (1.5 hrs) 
Day 3: Sunday
7am - 8:15am: The Yogic Breath - Practicing prāṇāyāma and meditationPractice (1.15 hrs) 
10am - 1pm: 6 Ways to Samādhi - Methods of Absorption towards Stainless Perfection (inspired by the Gheraṇḍa Saṃhitā early 18th century text)Lecture and Practice (3 hrs) 
2pm - 3:30pm: Strengthening the Quiet Place Within - Bridging the gap between Yoga and Mindfulness MeditationLecture and Practice (1.5 hrs) 

£240 non-members / £250 members
